Frosty The Hobo by GipsonDiamondJeweler Frosty The Hobo by GipsonDiamondJeweler
****SOLD****

My Traditional hand made snowman of the year. This one has a theme to him: Hobo.

His body is made of sterling silver sheet; his scarf, hat, hobo stick, nose, and patch are made of copper sheet and wire; and his pipe is 14k gold.

onyx has been used for coal eyes and buttons, as has been done so for every snowman I make, and the sack on the end of his hobo stick is a piece of turquoise.

My snowmen are a tradition that I've started mostly as a way to evaluate my progress each year, in both craftsmanship and design. Feel free to follow the links below to see the snowmen of Christmas' past.

Wow! It looks awesome! It's a shame that I didn't think of the same when I started my first year of goldsmithing... I'm on my fifth year now so it would have been cool to see my own progress. I see alot of progress from you aswell. Really love this one and last years snowman! Keep up the good work and make an even better snowman next year! ;)

Wonderful details! Oh and I must say I am so envious of how well you mixed your metals together! I have been working in that direction and I know how difficult it is to get a smooth join!

Thanks! I wish I could give you some advice on how to mix metals, but I'm not quite sure what it is I'm doing differently then others. My dad's been a jeweler for 30 years, and he can't even figure out how I'm doing it.

Very nice!
I particularly like the rough texturing on the patch and scarf. The different fringe is a nice touch too. I love the creativity with using a rough stone as his bag. Though I don't think this hob is that down on his luck.. he's got a gold pipe! :D
